Mitakara Circle Massage
Sunday is for family, relaxing, and connecting with ourselves and others.
Our close friend Cynthia wants to share with you Mitakara, a beautiful social hack she discovered in Japan. The goal is to skip the introductions and get relaxed, cozy and generous with each other, feeling like family while bringing consciousness to our bodies.
Mitakara is a circle massage session that starts with everybody massaging a foot and getting one foot massaged, continuing with the back, neck and arms, moving first clockwise then changing direction two times. It ends with participants laying on the floor with their heads on their neighbor’s tummy.
During this time conversations can go on in the circle, with casual yawning, stretching and making funny faces, all part of the practice.
We love it because it’s a great way to exchange our best massage skills, to give and receive in the same time a soothing touch, to be aware of both our body and the sensations we are offering to others, to create and deepen the connection with everybody in the circle.
6:00 Arriving, meeting everyone, freshening-up and making ourselves comfortable
6:15 Sitting in the circle, short instructions and foot massage!
6:45 Moving on to back massage
7:15 One more time for whoever wants more!
P.S. To make it really nice and enjoyable for everybody we recommend freshening up your feet before Mitakara and maybe changing into a clean pair of socks ;)
Based on the teachings of Iida Shigemi. You can check out more about it here: https://threetreasureschiangmai.weebly.com/
WELCOME and looking forward to seeing everyone there!
